2026 FEB 06 – Piñon Ave.

Today at approximately 6:15 PM, officers with the Cuba Police Department responded to a request from New Mexico Probation and Parole regarding Brannon Sturdevant, who had an active warrant for violating probation related to a Possession of a Controlled Substance case.

Officers also confirmed that Sturdevant had an additional warrant out of San Juan County for Failure to Report to Pre-Trial Services in connection with an open charge of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated.

Sturdevant was located driving near Piñon Avenue within the Town of Cuba. Officers made contact and, without incident, placed him under arrest. During the encounter, it was also determined that Sturdevant was driving while his license was revoked, for which he has related charges through the Cuba Police Department.

The Cuba Police Department will continue to work closely with our partners at New Mexico Probation and Parole and adjoining agencies to help fight crime and keep our communities safe.

There were no injuries reported.
